Need a smile?

I did not have anything to do with the making of this. My only reason for posting is that it made me smile and I wanted to share it. I hope it gives someone else a smile as well.

Hi Everyone,

I thought that I might just jump in here and let everyone know that Playing For Change has a website where you can find a lot of good information on this great organization.

I had heard the soundtrack for Standby Me about January or February this year, but it wasn't until early May when I saw it online. I was just getting ready for my run ins for skiin cancer and colon cancer and my wife had come to Oregon from here in Tahiti to be with me and help me get home. We were doing something on line and I happened to surf into one of my progressive sites and they had a Utube of this and from that I found their URL and the rest is history. Standby Me carried me thru about the roughest time of my life, and I ordered the CD/DVD set that they are offering on their web page http://www.playingforchange.com/ When you get to their page they have a hyperlink to buy the CD / DVD and the double disc set is only $13.98 and the money goes to a group that is doing some very fine work in this troubled world.

I have nothing to gain by writing this, other than it helped me get through some really tough times, and I felt good by ordering the set... I see now that they have the mp3's for sale and download from the web page also, so if you would rather not waste the paper for the disc set and the postage, you can go electronic and green... Only if you live in the US or Canada.....

Just this old Chief's 2 cents

Rachel-

Many thanks for this! A fantastic idea and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My other passion is playing the guitar (not that I am any good at it); music plays a big part in my life and this is music done as good as it gets.
