News: New website !

Hi, that's a good one! My preference is "fragments" and "solitudes urbaines" but the rest is beautiful as well. I just regret that the loading is a little bit long, and since the images are not hugely big that a bit of a concern. But, you are doing a fantastic work...

Hi Cedric,
It's wonderful to be able to view a broad selection of your work!
Such excellent work!
However, I will have to echo Sandrine's concern regarding the slow image loading.
Unencumbered by Flash, the images should load must faster than they do.
I fear you may lose viewer's interest.

Cedric,

At last the internet s working in my Paris hotel room. The images load immediately. However it could be that loading in the USA might be slower!

It might be an idea to consider an English translation of your statement of your work so you reach more people.

I like the breadth of your work and wish you had more of the theater shots in color. The fantasy slow shutter work s interesting. Perhaps you could introduce the work with a paragraph.

All in all, I had a good experience including reading the silver text on black.

Hi,

Thank you all ! I didn't have any slowless issue on my side, i have to check this particular point. Maybe i could compress more pictures, and i think there are technical options to pre-load jpeg files in browser...

Asher, i planed to set-up a bilingual version, with an english text. There are also features which need to be improved : blog, picture browsing...

Regards,

Cedric.

I checked that and and now that the site is in my chrome cache it goes OK...I've got a cable connection here which is huge and I tested some photoblogs while I was testing yours, I didn't want to frighten you with no good reason.

Hi Cedric,
Just some observations -
From here in New york the site itself loads immediately and navigation to any chosen page is equally as fast.
What I observed is within the loading of images selected to view only.

I called the site from work (dedicated T3 connection) and from home (broadband cable) and the image load speeds were the same. Both computers run Win7 Pro x64 on Intel's Core I7 platform.
This might indicate it is not overall site-related or host related, rather it may be within the image viewer s/w you are using.

I tried looking at the source code but didn't see anything that struck me as out of the ordinary.
Then again, I don't speak french so it was dificult to understand the various page call destinations!

Also, your images are all approximately 115k (give or take), so I doubt the file size is the culprit.

Hi,

I think pictures are loaded using a very basic javascript code, it's weird... Even if i am an IT specialist, i haven't coded this website which has been set-up by my sister. I will check with her.

Regards,

Cedric.

Cedric,

Now that I'm back in L.A., the pictures are loading but after a delay of 4-5 second, as opposed to almost immediately in Paris this morning!
