This topic is moved from the OP's original thread here. It has a lot of confrontation. This comes from deeply felt convictions on what constitutes such things as legal versus illegal acts and assumed rights of photographers v. the individual being photographed. A discussion with this level of obvious hostility, is hard to justify in a forum. But good formal logic is wound up and conflated with emotional assertions that are readily felt as demeaning. However, in defense of this obvious transgression is the "root of the problem", a lack of empathy for the deemed, "victims" of the street photographers' artistic fancy.
Instead of deleting this difficult and embarrassing material outright, (out of deference to a number of really good photographers who have spent their efforts on this important subject), the discussion is moved here. This region, UPTOWN, is where insult and social shock might not come as a surprise! Still the TOS applies and it may yet all be deleted if folk cannot separate logic from invective. Asher
It would appear that there is no shortage of pseudo intellects, pseudo machos, pseudo philosophers et all
that contribute to this forum.
Makes for diversity, if for nothing else..in my humble opinion.
Then there are the master purveyors of the English Language. It is easy, too easy to sit at the keyboard and seemingly argue about the right of photographers...
Interesting that most of them have never posted an image of their family here. Says a lot to me about their speak.
Then there are those that inhabit the corridors of libraries to get their kicks and photograph women. Not to forget their cheerleaders that seem to me to join them jumping up and down to get their adrenaline pumping, and issuing unwarranted platitudes to their heroes.
I ask them all..show me ( not some articulate bullshit, since similar language is now the accepted , vernacular of this forum ), how high each one of you has actuallly gone?
We know how low you have been, but show me where you have put your life on the line, where you have the courage to face death in the face, where you have exceeded what your bodies and minds are capable of bearing and then given some more.
Nay, show me half of how high a woman can go.
Or just languish in your imaginary self esteem and continue to haunt the corridors of dark libraries photographing women and justifying such action to satisfy your fantasies.
