Osprey Chick at 30 days old

Well this Osprey is 30 day old and finally has the nest to himself since the other 2 chicks died. As you can see in his crop (neck area) he has plenty of food stored in there! Only the strong survive.

Magnificently sharp pictures!

These are remarkable pictures giving insights to natural selection! Do they ever canabalise the weaker chicks? What about the dead ones?

No asher..just a little peck here and there. I can still see the dead chick in the nest, he is drying up fast!
