The Palawan flowerpecker (Prionochilus plateni) is a species of bird in the Dicaeidae family. It is endemic to the Philippines.

Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

The scientific name commemorates the German zoologist Carl Constantin Platen.

For those that have not visited the Palawan islands..you have not seen the best islands in the world..bar none.

This is so fabulous. Exotic, beautiful and something I've never seen before. Itm makes having an 800mm lens seem the bare minimum, LOL!
