Valentin, this is a fantastic treat, thank you for sharing. I clicked on the link and enjoyed giving myself a good case of vertigo.

thank you all for the kind words and interest

the idea in my panoramas is that one can immerse (zoom in and out) and find a lot of more details than the ones usually found

here is a larger version of the exhibition

soon I'll start to post links to the pictures

a few words

I took the pictures between 2008 and 2010; from the many hundreds of images I have tried with little success to select some images of major places; then I did ask help from two dear friends and gifted photographers who dis looked at the spherical panoramas (for some weeks) and in the end made a few recommendations; then the advice of Radu to dare more in greyscale and a final selection

This very first one makes for a wonderful flat view. I like the delivery in B&W with the shadows spreading on the wall. The entire exhibit covers a lot of your panorama work. Did you also have set ups wth a computer to show the panorama where people could explore.

kindly thank you Asher

Although there is a screen and video-projector in the club (and I might as well get mine and use it anywhere), I have mentioned the spherical panoramas only in the leaflet, so the people may experience for themselves the immersive pictures, to get there and spend how much attention and time to the details each one considers best.

here is a link to a very large image with the leaflets interior - but one would have to copy by hand the entire internet address in order to visit the panorama - unfortunately for this exhibition I have neglected the dynamic of the 360 degree photography

Valentin, I'd never really considered 350 degree panoramas as art to date, it's fun, it's fascinating but I'd never seen it as art.

Until now.

Thank you for opening my eyes to new possibilities!

I especially like 08, 11, 12, it's a new chapter is the world of composition, an incredibly difficult one to previsualise and these images do it perfectly.

Ben,

You are so right. Valentin is indeed showing architecture in a way that informs us of more than just the building being there. It adds a point of view that is far more contextual. Here, the artist completes the work in his/her mind only at the computer when the final decisions on composition, inclusion and exclusion are made.

However, in time, one can plan such views from the outset as one absorbs this sensibility gained from experiencing the final choices of presentation. I now now what the final image will be and meticulously plan for it weeks beforehand.

thank you

I am humbled by the kind words and only hope some day the pixels I try to put to some use really get consistence.

By interactive means it is possible to put somebody in face of more than the compositon but of what I experienced at a certai place at a certain interval. I now know the problem is equally challenging to find interesting things - hopefully harmonious ones - and put a story when exploring around.

Valentin, I saw this post a few days ago. Clicked the link. Believe me quite few times.

Mesmerizing comes to mind. That's one of the few words that describe my feelings.

How you did it is way way beyond me.

Yes sir. I enjoyed it. And am grateful that you shared it with me.

Regards.

Valentin,

It's so important for the artist to bring to us what s/he sees in new ways so we take in and not take fro granted what we have been given to enjoy.
