I am not sure which I like best...

Perhaps the second one. The first has a very special tone applied and it is very intimate.

Nice, nice ! :)

A portrait of a different kind..sorry for the size.

Even at this comparatively large size, the subtleties of the image is not there.

Indeed a very different image.

The stuff and the big in the background locate the child who, in turn is smelling something...

Indonesia ? Brazil ? Latin America ?

Is he holding a Leica ?

The image of the girl looks like some blur have been done... Is it so ?

I assume on both a great aperture was used.

No. The guy had a Nikon D4S with a Nikon 24-70/2.8 lens attached!

Yes, I have applied some Gaussian blur to the image. I only had a .6 nd filter with me which was not sufficient because of extreme sunlight.

I generally, have not found the need to go beyond f2.8 for such shots. Usually f1.4 or f2.0 is where I am at.

What use a fast lens, if one uses it stopped down? Lens performance at f/1.4 and below is what separates lenses in price. F/5.6 and above, all lenses start looking the same.

Thanks for stopping by.

This one has some nice features beyond her being a good-looker! I like, for example the balance of the soft texture of the figure on the left with the set of horizontal stripes to the right of her backpack.

Nice composition!
