No, not that one!!

The Philadelphia I am writing about here is at the foot and surrounded by seven hills.

It is history. How long..7000 BCE. Long enough for me.

Battles with David and Saul were launched from around here. Which David? Which Saul?
I shall leave you nice folks to figure it out.

Known as Rabbath-Ammon. Associated with the Selucid and Nabatean rules.

History, as I said.

The name of the city reverted back to its semitic origin..Ammon.

It is called Amman nowadays.

So what has it got to do with Philadelphia?

Actually it was also known as Philadelphia, briefly. After the Ptolemaic Philadelphus.

History is very informative and could be very beneficial...if one cares to study it.

p.s. the ruins with a small view of Amman.

"Officially the Hashemite kingdom of Jordon is an Arab kingdom in western Asia on the east bank of the Jordon River and extending into the historic region of Palestine. Jordon borders Saudi Arabia to the South and East. Iraq to the Northeast, Syria to the North and Palestine the Dead Sea and Israel to the West." It is amazing that structures like this still exist today.

"The Hashemites trace their ancestry from Hashim ibn 'Abd Manaf (died c. 511 AD), the great-grandfather of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad, although the definition today mainly refers to the descendants of Muhammad's daughter, Fatimah".
