A very fine set Eric, great job ! and here I thought they only ate insects "thats scary" lol
Only one minor nit, your D300 seems to be running a bit noisy on the first two photos. Interesting
my Nikon NX2 software did a better job at NR than my Noiseware software. Most of the time
Noiseware does a very job.

tweak

-added a tad of Nikon NX2 NR to remove some of the noise
-added a tad of selective USM (sharpening) to just the eyes to get over the NR (loss of detail) when applied

Thanks for posting.
PS I like the last one the best, great pattern in the eye and the DOF light rings in the BG are cool !

Take care,

Very cool action with that Crawfdad, Eric! Very unusual!

I've shot at Merritt Island NWR a few times in the past, but was completely unaware of the Viera Wetlands. Looks like I'll definitely have to stop by there the next time I head to Florida!

Well done.
Here on the Venezuelan plains, both tree frogs and bats will ambush insects near lights. It is not common, but I have seen the frogs take a bat. Sorry, no pictures though.
