Pike Low - Upper Derwent Valley, Derbyshire '16

This photograph was taken on a 10 mile hike up and around the upper Derwent Valley. It's the only one of three images I captured, because soon after the weather and light turned foul, and it started to rain. As usual, the Peak District can be a beast sometimes due to it's weather patterns.
Anyway, this one shows over a century old derelict dry stone wall, which I think it's allowed to be after such a long time. I kind of liked it's look in the landscape and of course all the textures at play here, hence the photograph.

Paul,

So was there any shelter for you when it was raining or did you just continue your hike in the rain?

Any photographs taken with the rain pouring down and the mist rising?

All you'd need then would be some hounds howling!

No Asher, you'll have to make do with this one for now. :)

There isn't any shelter at all other than what you may find from overhanging rock formations. It was for these that I wanted to see, and chose this hike. But we had waterproof jackets and rucksacks and we always go prepared for bad weather, anyway. Better luck next time, I guess.

Well, Paul, if this is a lone image, I will just value this single picture even more!

Thanks for sharing!
