As you are a bird tragic, I'll share my story of the day. At work, a tiny eastern spinebill had got itself covered (I mean covered) in cobwebs. It struggled down to feed on a grevillea but looked to be really suffering. I managed to catch it and soothed it whilst trying to remove the cobwebs.
The poor little bugger could hardly see, it's bill was sealed shut (like a crocodile with its snout bound), its claws were bound tight. Anyway after a couple of minutes I'd wiped away the webs from its wings, bill, feet and face and placed it outside on a tasty looking banksia.
Minutes later it was frollicking happily.
