Just for Fun No C&C will be given: Pope Benedict XVI in St. Peters Basilica in Vatican

For once I am going to share an uncomplicated, straight from the raw picture without any pp, since this too can be fun and you don't have to ponder much whether you like or not. Probably the latter in this particular case, but hey I am also human and quite fallible. lol

We did not know he'd show up when we strolled into the Basilica near closing time. I was quite pleased with unexpectedly seeing a pope in the flesh for the first and probably the last time in my life. Anyway, the longest lens I had on my 5DII was the 100mm so the image is a bit tiny, you may have to search a bit to find him ;-).

Hi, Cem,

Bill was talking to his friend Walter, a mens' clothing store owner.

"So Walter, I heard that while you were on that buying trip to Rome, you were able to meet the Pope."

"Yes, I was very lucky. One of the designers I buy from is well-connected at the Vatican, and he arranged it."

"So, what kind of a man is the Pope?"

"About a 48 long."

Best regards,

Doug

Vaguely reminiscent of Father Guido Sarducci's SNL skit - "Find the Popes in the Pizza"... :)
Sorry, couldn't resist.
