I just saw on the news,tv, they are following a home made hot air balloon type thing thats floating along,it has hit hieghts of 10,000 feet anmd is traveling at about 50 m.p.h. The shocking thing is on this balloon is a child...No adults is my understanding just a lone 6yr old....The video footage is amazing...And to think a child is on it....It looks basically like a giant mushroom...Hopefully some will pray for a good out come to this....Hit www.cnn.com to see the video footage....Wow unreal....

Falcon missing!
The 6 year old boy is missing. His name is Falcon. The kid wasn't in the balloon when it landed! Something apparently landed but no boy and no basket. Now it appears, there was no basket attached when it took off. If the boy was on it in the first place, then, as he weighs about 50lb, if he was on it, the lift was not so great, perhaps it floated low. Right now there is an air search with forward looking infrared radar to detect him when the son goes down.
Hopfully he's hiding in his home neighborhood and he didn't travel the 50 miles away the balloon landed .
The family have 4 kids under the age of 10, an adventurous, amateur scientists, chasing storms, inventing things. He built the milar covered balloon.
Let's hope the kid is safe!

Great, great news, but that has cost a lot of money! Hope the parents don't get the bill for the aircraft and helicopters searching the 100 square mile area.

Oh thank heavens. This made me ill to contemplate.

I sat and watched till the balloon landed..this captured world wide attention as it was broadcast live in a number of countries...When no boy was found inside i was nearly in tears thinking the worest as he may of fallen out something like that but to sit and watch thinking a young boy just 6 was in that thing as it floated along out of control....
It did have a happy ending...I think we really need more happy endings like this.It was a huge waste of emergency rescue crews time you can look at it like that or look at it as a good drill...
It was a event that froze people all over the world to their tv's...He is alive...Such a good ending,phew.....God bless.............

But then, there are these sort of things going on all the time. And then there are the atrocities of large scale war and famine. They are the really shocking things, but largely ignored in the media because they lack the sensational aspects. The money spent by saving a couple of (ill managed) banks, could have fed all the hungry people in the world for a long time, and create a longer term solution.

According to AP, it is now confirmed. It was a hoax.

How disgusting....I have read the Yahoo news on it....He was doing wierd **** like going out and waking up reporters who where sleeping in their cars saying he had a announcment and then changed his mind on it but i mean like its some kind of fun game to him....
They are looking at Federal charges against him....I say he foots the bill for all the emergency responders....
I feel sorry for his son it will take him some time to live this down specially with a name like Falcon.....
How disappointing......Again it is good the boys okay....I'd much rather be talking about a hoax then the death of a child.....

In fact, the boy is the only one who (naively) told the truth (he didn't have an agenda to manipulate others, yet), which usually is the best solution. I only hope he didn't get reprimanded by his (twisted) parents, it may be the best thing that happened to them (although it may take some time for them to understand that).
We have a saying in the Netherlands: "Children (and the drunk), they speak the truth".
