Printing on a Vista PC

Does anyone know if its possible to use an Windows XP ICM profile on a Vista PC or as I suspect are the profiles OS specific?

Has anyone any experience of printing using a Vista PC or is XP a better choice?

Profiles are not OS specific (other than the Apple filename extension silliness).

Thanks for the reply I'm going to try my old XP profile to print on a D88 to see what output I get.
