This rattler is amazingly camouflaged. I was so surprised that in the first glance I saw no snake, just the metal-lke hook tongue which I thought was actually some tool. The snake itself, only came into view after a moment's delay, perhaps only a 1/2 second or so, but the phenomenon impressed me as an edge the snake has for itself.

This is an excellent image- was it done with a shallow DOF macro? How close were you?
