i'd gone to the coast to try to capture some sunsets along the rugged Washington shore, but out of four days there, three were foggy. on the last evening, it was clear, so i went to Ruby Beach to see how the evening looked. when i arrived, the tide was about halfway out, the sun was almost to the horizon, and the mist from the surf was lit up with the most amazing golden glow! i hurried to the beach and began taking pictures; this one was the best. the sunset itself was, frankly, rather boring by comparison! PP consisted of a pass through Neat Image to clean up some noise, then adjustments to contrast, gamma, and a slight boost in saturation. i also used a blue gradient effect from Picasa2 to enhance the sky, which was very pale in the original.
