Shooting in Palm Springs, CA on Feb 10-11 2007: Guidance Neded!

Palm Springs, CA on Feb 10-11 2007

I might end up in this place next weekend. I'll have some business to take care of in the first half of Saturday, but I should be done by, say, 3 pm. Since it's quite a drive I was thinking of extending my stay into Sunday and use it to get some late night/early morning shots.

Any suggestions for vicinity shooting? I don't mind some driving, as long as it's not too far away.
TIA

PS
I just got my 18 million candle power search light, so the night shooting can be tres cool..

Nik,

You might want to take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to the top. The scenery up there is quite beautiful and depending on the weather, you could get some snow too.

Thanks!
It looks like a day time shooting. I doubt they'll let me stay up there after the sunset (and I do NOT want to go back by foot:)

Here is the schedule for the tram.. for what it's worth.. I think I would check for the time of the last car down..

"The first Tramcar up is 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. Saturday, Sunday and Holidays. Tramcars depart at least every 30 minutes with the last car up 8 p.m. and last car day 9:45 p.m. from Labor Day Weekend. Beginning Memorial Day Weekend last car up is 9 p.m. and last car down 10:30 p.m."

It looks like the last car down is after sunset.. But it is down hill all the way!!.. I haven't been up there in years, but I went in the winter and it was very warm in Palm Springs and snow on the ground at the top.. And a lot of tourists running around in shorts and sandals....
