I want to get a flash unit for my Pentax K10D. Shouldn't really spend the money at the moment, but there's a family event coming up in a few weeks, so I may be able to justify the expense.

Having looked at the available options, including Sigma and Metz, the Pentax 540 AF FGZ seems to be the best option. It's available for £315 from Microglobe in England. This seems like good value.

I hope to use it fairly often. Am I crazy to spend this sort of money on a flash?

As long as you're a Pentax guy, then that's a great idea as it should always work with the new bodies.
