Spaces for personal reflection

Antonio,

What a fine portrait that carves out a private space for her. This belongs in Intimate Spaces, but that was intended to expand this thread, so it does belong here. anyway, we're not yet utterly fixed in the exhibit's title, but we do seem to have centered around the concept of "Our spaces". We're open to any themic non-nude work for this show. If it's compelling, that might very well shift the focus and boundaries of our final show.

I think this photo - which I have done on purpose to this theme/thread - is more suitable than my mother's one.

This one could also go into the "fun with iphone" thread. It's a wee dram of 30 year old single malt at a bar in Washington DC. There is a bit of a double meaning, for me at least, since the space could be the bar itself, or the space between one's ears.

Bob,

Can you take this further? What about the human element, an angle, a hand perhaps or other indication?

That's a neat idea Asher, but I only have that one photo, and probably won't be back there again. I really like the way the light was there, with all the reflections.

I had been thinking of a still life but probably won't have time to do it, so if someone else wants to, go for it.

It would be a bottle of liquor and an iPhone. Taking your idea and adding it, perhaps a hand holding the iPhone, checking facebook. Or even better, typing a post. I'm thinking something dark, but innocent without the context. Not sure what.

My thoughts are to challenge all of us to experiment and push boundaries. Obviously, there's an ulterior motive in this endeavor. we're always looking for pictures to include in the OPF exhibition we're aiming to assemble for this December or if not, then early 2014. It would be great to find out how a small "place" can be given a sense of some sanctuary or safe location, where someone can reflect, be amused, commune, or share ideas in a personal way.

Bob,

I still like your space as it is presented. You're on track. If you imagine other visions like that, then grab them!

Terry,

There's more possible perhaps. After all, one can have a red light and dim shapes of trays and minimal reflections.
