Today I picked these fallen seeds from a Sweet Gun tree or a Hybrid Oak??

I have to wait until spring to look at the leaves.

My neighbor happens to be a former student of mine when I was a Professor in Medical School. By amazing coincidence he has been my next door neighbor since I moved on decades ago and has a loaded lemon tree in which the state plants insect traps.
