I have been living in Bangkok for six months and love it, but rarely get to take my camera out. I was recently at Asiatique on the river and caught the sun going down.

Nigel,

This really took me! I stopped everything just to find other examples of a pink sun, just like that. This is rare! So what is it that gave that color? Is this unusual in Bangkok?

It would be fabulous with silhouettes od buildings and people.

Thanks Asher, maybe it is just atmospheric conditions. I liked the idea of it dropping below the bridge.

Here's one a few minutes earlier. as shot in the camera, unretouched except conversion from NEF to JPEG

And here is another one. I was intrigued by the idea of the sun being a ball rolling on the bridge...again 100% unretouched and as seen in the camera

Nigel,

These are truly amazing pictures of the sun being a pink disk in the sky! Talk to folk and find out if this is a common occurrence and see if there's an explanation. Is there a lot of pollution?

I hope you can take more with either bucolic fields, a forrest, or else miles of roofs so there is a contrast between just two simple patterns.

I'd also put the camera on a tripod and get a whole lot with a long lens just to add to other pictures!

This sun is phenomenal!
