Ok, so I'm not all that but I do have a bad habit of remembering song lyrics & movie lines, and enjoy using them when it suits me.

I'm a wedding photographer from Southern Illinois. I've been in the industry for almost 10 years, and business has really started picking up in the past couple. I work side-by-side with my wife and we specialize in customer service and aim for a high-end product.

For the gearheads - I shoot with Canons - 5DmkII and a 40D. In the process of switching from Sigma glass (70-200 2.8; 24-70 2.8; 10-20) to L's (24-105 4.0L). Lighting is by Quantum (x2D's & t2D's with 2x2's and a qpak with AC PDA).

Hi Matthew,

Welcome at OPF. We're a friendly bunch, and we love images. So If you have a couple to share, either for our enjoyment, or for comments/suggestions should you wish so, don't hesitate to post some. We can all learn a lot by finding out how our images are perceived by others. We only have a couple of wedding photographers on OPF, so we like the addition of another one to balance the posts about other interesting subjects.

Welcome to OPF, Matthew! I visited your website and note that you post pics that are not yet photoshopped. I think about that issue as not showing all one's good pics means less sales but having to finish of every pic that might not sell is a vacuum of one's time. How does it work out in practice?

I do very minimal post processing of my images - especially before they are ordered.
My thought behind it is that I try to take the pictures well and rely on Photoshop very little. I use Lightroom to sort and do a bit of balancing but that's about it. If someone really wants something Photoshopped, I'm happy to do it - and if I can brag I'm fairly talented with it - but my photography style is to work the camera, not the computer.

That's a very valuable philosophy, as photoshopping can be emotionally rewarding and therefore easily addictive - just as collecting fine lenses!
