When I was young and watched movies I would see ' color by Technicolor or Eastman Color '. I had to sit with my grandson last night ( compulsory adult supervision folks ! ) to see ' Journey to the Center
of the Earth '. I had seen the same title when I was my grandson's age!

Reminded me to post some color!!!

I underexposed this one on purpose for a more deeper color and that went with the structure.

The one below, I just stood over a bridge to for a breather, before trying to catch up with Ayesha!!

Grandfather's are blessed with the duty of supervising!

Your use of extra saturation emphasizes the neglect of these once richly kept buildings. one sad thing about Italy is the state of ruin of much of the architecture which is a national treasure and the basis for much tourism.*

An idea is to remove most of the extra saturation from the water so that it doesn't look so full of algae, for then everything is truly stagnant and hope is lost!

* Where there's shopping, luxury clothes and jewelry stores on the ground level might bring in $ millions for the owners. It seems deceptively well kept, but the fine marble and stainless steel ends above the first floor level and then there's decay of the marble and brick, stucco and the wooden window frames. It amazes me that such a modern society with the best engineers cannot look to their own inheritance with more vision.

Asher, I am with you on this one. To let these treasures wither away would be a pity, to say the least.
Your suggestion to lessen the canal saturation is very appropriate.
