Paul, I like these as a group. A nice ittle set of realted images.

The tonality you are getting from the neopan is quite different to that I tend to get from TMY2 and HP5+. It seems to scan a bit brighter and I want to tame the highs in a lot of these. It may be my laptop (i.e. not good and calibrated) monitor, so don't rush at it, but there is a bit of a theme. Have you printed these yet?

Cheers

Mike

Paul,

This is such a different subject for you to explore. They fit together as a theme and this has promise for a growing collection. You've avoided prettiness and artistic conceits by not getting seduced into doing extreme closeups of contrasting textures. Rather you have braved the complex challenges of recording these richly detailed relatively wide-view scenes. I'm sure you have a lot of thought in these 4 pictures as it will gradually become apparent as more are added to this interesting series.

Thanks, Mike. The images look totally fine on my monitor. I guess I will soon find things out a little more when I do get to print one or two of these. That'll be fun.

Thanks, Asher.
I'm training myself in solely using one type of lens. Before with my K20D, I was solely using the 21mm prime (32mm), and all my images since the start of my 'Statues' project were taken with that. Now, with this camera it's the fixed 40mm lens, and I love using it.
There is some commonality of certain elements within these images that I thought about and liked to record. For instance, the power stations smokestacks and pier columns, the buoys and bike wheels in the other and in the first image something could be said about my shadowed form and the Yucca plant?...:D
