Administrative: The beginnings of forum recovery from our migration to a new platform.

In spite of hiring a Xenforo expert in migration from vBulletin and despite paying Liquid Web to switch us to the more secure HTTPS protocol we discovered that

• Search engines could no longer see us
• Gmail was rejecting OPF messages to SPAM
• We had far less web traffic
• No new registration even from BOTS
• We were still viewed as a HTTP domain
• Static landing page nixed Google interest

Interventions:

• moved landing page to the forum list
• Remade HTTPS certificate in server
• Updated redirect from temp 307 to 301
• Google code to Xenforo opening heading
• Our coded-address to Google integration
• Keywords to each thread now compulsary

Result:

So, we are just starting to recover! A lot more is needed, but we have much better tools in place for us to flourish as never before with your continued support!

What you can do to help us:

• Post your new pictures to recover great vintage threads
• Look out for all our other active photographers
• A “like” is fine, but a a comment is better!
• Find photographs worth recognition and add your “take”!
• Rediscover that beautiful creature, landscape or intriguing stranger in past threads!
