My World: The edge of the world...

About a couple of hours driving from my home is a huge area of escarpments surrounding a valley.

When rains come, in one day flowers blossom in this arid part of the world. Families pitch their tents, kids bring their rugged terrain buggies. It is a wonderful place to camp out, spend a night or two under the stars.

The sunrise and sunsets are magnificent.

The expatriates in my country call this area ' the edge of the world '. I went their last week with my family.

Next time I shall bring my camera of choice for such excursions.

And then, there are things to do for the adventurous amongst us..

Great shot Fahim.
The huge cliff on the left has beautiful detail and the background seems to trail off to, well the edge of the world.
Excellent.

Very nice, Fahim! I can certainly understand the area's name, "edge of the world". There's a similar geographic feature in Texas.

Interestingly, looks like there was erosion and then the land was flooded and there was sediment.

What is the scale? I imagine is must be some 50 to 100 meters high?

Did you use any filter ? The bottom part of the image is quite balanced over the orange...

Indeed as Asher mentioned the scape is absent. However, it looks like very big !...
I would say it is higher than 100 meters. I may be wrong :)

I have some rocks from there with sea-shells fossils in them. It used to be under water.

The mornings become very foggy/misty.
