Rob,

The moment I saw your photograph, I knew I had a companion but had to find it! So here it is!

It's really special to me to see people actually paying full attention to one another and valuing each word the other utters and reading their faces for any nuance to help explain things better.

I would enjoy the image more if it provided more information and revealed something about these two dudes on the other hand it does leave room to imagine what they may be discussing. They could be small-time crooks panning a a heist of some kind or it may be that the older dude has just offered the other a job that requires good driving habits and punctuality. The guy leaning forward is excited and is about to assure him that he is a responsible driver and is never late or early.

Jim,

But isn't that always the case?

What I like in these pictures is that the two men or each tuned to the same wavelength in that moment. The content, in each case, however, is most often huge guess. In the first case they could be discussing a play they saw or else the idea of a recipe for a dinner with crazy ingredients. In my picture, it could be lossless compression of images, the importance of temperature in storage of wines or else the value of swimming lessons for infants.

So we could supply clues. But then they'd be less to guess!

Thanks for your comments! It's not a Leica, Fahim, but one manages with what one has! The great thing about the little black Ricoh GR and the like, is that no one imagines it's a potentially pro camera and so they do not get so disturbed.

Hi, Asher,
Thanks for your comments! It's not a Leica . . .

Well, I could have had a Leica as one of my two early Christmas presents, if I had opted for the V-Lux 4, the Leica-badged version of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200, for USD 400 more!

Best regards,

Doug
