Chris,

I love these very personal Ma and Pa run stores. Folk don't have a lot of money, but the prices are fair and there's a lot of heart, camaraderie and color.

I love nostalgic locations like this. You did a nice job with your photographs of it. Including people adds a lot to them.

I really liked that place and hope some day to return. My favorite is also 6:58 but as a B&W more than in color.

Oh - I love the colour and would even probably give it more of a retro faded tonality if it were mine. Look forward to seeing others, if you ever get back there.

Hey Chris, your right about the use of B&W on '6.58'. I took the liberty, I hope you don't mind...

I chose to tilt the image a little because it looked staid and too obvious as to how you took the shot. This is a great place to get some pictures of life playing out, I think it's well worth going back to and just hanging out in with your camera, for sure. I bet you would see plenty of characters coming and going...there's cake too. :)
I think you should use a large aperture like f2.8, although it does look like you have some shallow DOF anyway. :)

This was my conversion. I see we both went for more detail in the countertop reflections but I can't go quite as far as you did with the contrast.
