Three faces of James

Self portrait made this evening as my photo a day project continues. This was a light painted long exposure using my 105mm macro lens and my Nikon D3. I shot a 30 second exposure in a totally dark room shining a flashlight on my face in 3 short bursts.

Brrrrrrr!

I wouldn't leave my young sister alone with such a personnage !

If you wanted to scare children, c'est une belle réussite! ;-)

Good blending technique BTW…

Gee thanks Fahim. And I suppose thank you too Nicolas. Two seemingly opposite responses yet I feel they are truly identical:) I am really a lot nicer than I look.
There was no blending in this however. It looks like it perhaps but it was just one normal 30 second exposure with me moving my head and then turning on my flashlight for a fraction of a second. I had my camera on my tripod...prefocused then set to manual focus so it would not change when I pressed the shutter release...had my timer set for 10 seconds so after pressing the button I could run and sit down on the couch before the shutter opened...when the exposure started I turned on the flashlight for a fraction of a second then turned it off again...the light was down in my lap pointing up towards my face...turned my head to the side...turned on flashlight again...and did again one more time...all of this taking place in a completely dark room. It was just a fun experiment and I liked the outcome.

High School

We did that in high school photography with film....results not as good. Thanks for sharing that. I think I will try it with the twin granddaughters this weekend. Taking them to be shot.

Bonjour james
I don't think you have to thank me, but be sure that what I wrote is because I've been impressed in all meanings!
