Here, you have decided to give us a border of different colors! If you are going close, then go closer and get rid of the border. do you want to be intimate, get in there and either have the backround blurred and one color out of focus for example or else pull back and make the background do some work in the composition.

Or else you have used the background as part of the composition and I just don't "get it". could be! You now have done too many portraits of her for me to let untidy loose hair not be mentioned. Let her hair be wild, but allow her face to be boldly covered or else clearly seen. This way, you have distracting fine hairs in the center and distracting background at the periphery.

I know this is harsh and it does not take away from the sweet kid in any way. Yes she's a darling. However, technically, attending to these things might really help your pictures. Hey, but that's only one guys opinion.

yes she is...I do all or much of my portrait study with her face

you are right! This was a different study in cropping
as I did one titled Sugar High with no comments-the crop is close
I leave it here for crit as well
