I always enjoy being in Mexico and photographing on the streets. People in general aren’t resistant to my taking photographs of them. Anne and I are staying in Tapachula for the next four days, and I will be busy on the streets capturing hopefully compelling images.

Starting this morning with a walk to the grocery store, I passed a shop where a man leaning against the open doorway responded to my greeting. As I chatted with him, I noticed a man inside assembling/repairing electronic equipment. I stuck my head in the door and asked if I could take of photo of the man. Manuel asked me to send him a copy by WhatsApp.

Tradesmen like this fellow are so interesting. They sell a variety of goods from liquor to lottery tickets, snacks and some Pepsi!

But they are very important to the local community. For a small amount of money, one can catch up on the news and put something for creature comfort to spoil oneself, be it liquor or potatoe chips!

My find this afternoon. Another Manuel in a different area of Tapachula. He was working at his craft of trailering, in front of a barred window in order to have light. I watched for a minute or two, asked if I could take a photo, then stuck my camera through the bars for a couple of shots.

A younger man working behind him, quickly left the room so that he wouldn’t be included in the photo. Manuel said that he has been trailering for 50 years. He has no Facebook or other Social Media availability to deliver him a copy of his photos - but he wasn’t worried about it.

My glance saw forms matching liquor bottles.....but there is detail to discover!

That’s how people make errors and swear in court what appears to be true, out of ignorance!

Now it’s quite plainly not that! ??

The “other fellow”, here too runs from a camera.......but here it’s ICE, the dreaded nasty immigration arm of the government!

My wife used her phone to grab a shot of her well-worn 63 year old husband - in his street photography setup, today in Tapachula, Mexico.

Normally I shoot with a wrist strap on my Olympus E-M10 - but it happens that I brought my 2’nd body with the camera strap that comes with the camera. It’s a nuisance, but it’s what I have so has to do LOL.
