I like new fruits. It’s an adventure as taste is always a surprise, like a new friend or romance.

My wife receive a gift with holes at the side so I expected it was something alive and gingerly opened it.

Turns out these were fruit, a cross between a mandarin orange and apparently grapefruit. The fruit is delicately tart with an orange flavor. They only appear for a short while in March and quickly get sold out, at least here in California.
