Up close with a Kingfisher

I was lucky to have this KIngfisher land next to me. Closest pic of this bird for me to date.

Nice capture, Eric.
Belted Kingfishers around here are extremely skittish. I have never been as close as this one and the closest I have been was on its terms, not mine.

On the other hand, kingfishers in Africa are very approachable.

Nice one, Eric. I just love Kingfishers, but they are quite skittish, so 'close encounters' are fairly rare. Great detail, nice 'hair-do'!

Amazing job Eric -

I've chased these birds until I am blue.... if I am every lucky enough to get close, they end up being on a wire.... sigh....

Again - this is a keeper, I know how difficult these guys are to capture!
