Urban Firewall?

I like this scene very much, Paul. It has excellent "bones" and possibilities.

The blue/green cast is distracting to me, as is the ultra-high contrast. May I suggest starting over and exploring other tonal possibilities? That's absolutely critical for abstract scenes featuring forms and relationships that strongly echo physical familiarity.

Speaking of which, no, "firewall" doesn't work as a title. It's modern meaning has no physical analog. The forms in this scene remind me most strongly of a sylized forest behind a chain link fence.

Hi Paul

I really like this Paul, and agree with Cedric about the colour, works perfectly as is for me, reminds me a little of some of the shots of dried out winter plant stems that I've been taking.

Paul,

I could almost be ready to testify that you have changed your tea to some other herb! This is so unlike your sharply defined and geometric urban architecture. Here we see indefinites and subtle rust hues.

I'd love to hear more about this and see some more examples of this sensibility as this is an unexpected new esthetic you seem to be attracted to today!

Hi Paul, I see a message of despair and rebelion, painted by the mens from the Lascaux caves today. How about "Stone Age" for a title?

OK first of all, thanks for looking and commenting everyone, I appreciate it.

Ken, i'm open to different possibilities with this image and take onboard what you say. I hadn't really done much to it other than to improve the overall contrast in the image (not excessively), and give a tweak on the colour balance.
The wording 'Urban Firewall' was just a suggestion, it wasn't a title. I have another though - 'Tuscany Fire'. This image is in fact untitled. :)
I had seen your set of Urban Fossil images before you posted the link, and I like them. Did they all come from the same area 'cos they all have the same coloured stone?

Asher, I do have other abstract images, I haven't shown 'em on here yet. This one here is one that I favour a lot.
These are rust streaks formed by a steady drip of rain, god knows how long this process must have taken to achieve this appearance in the photo. :)

Actually, Paul, you might consider ditching the title altogether. Let the viewers see what they will. When you find yourself struggling with a title you should take it as a clue to omit a title and perhaps let viewers eventually declare one for you over a period of years.

Re: my own "urban glyphs" project, they were indeed all captured from paving concrete surfaces of about the same age. Still, the challenge was to process this group of 15 images for some sense of visual consistency. That was an arbitrary goal, at least for this initial body.

I agree, likewise.
