Even though this was taken and processed with my Xperia Z1 smartphone, this little unit certainly packs a punch in the picture taking stakes and i'm not ashamed in using it, especially when I don't have the GR at hand.
This image looks like it could be printed up A3 or bigger, I can't bloody believe it...

Hi Paul,

This is a wonderful photo. I've been enjoying your work - I was quite surprised when you mentioned you hadn't taken a photo in 8 months, as your photos will still so fresh in my mind when I saw them come back.

It's amazing how quickly things are moving isn't it? There are already a few cameras with raw, OIS and other useful addons. It's good news for mobile users, but maybe not so good for the dedicated camera market in the long run....

Thanks, Sam.
I really can't help thinking that either, Sam. There are software applications and tools that can be applied like a shallow DOF and whatnot, to make up for the shortfalls in the images created by these devices.. and to give them a conventional look.
I have already seen images taken by a smartphone and printed up in the Lonely Planet travel magazine and you cannot tell the difference between the smartphone image and a camera taken image on the other pages. I love self publishing and l have an oversize book created with some of my images, and l feel that's the way to go for me in viewing my images. Some l have printed up and on the wall but the wall can only take so many pics. My point is, is that if these smartphone images can work in a book or a magazine then that's good enough for me.
Anyway, we all look at books containing photographs of other famous photographers work. Lee Friedlander stated that his work is best viewed in a book...that's good enough for me too.

So, i'm embracing smartphone picture taking technology, wholeheartedly. I guess we'll be running the same gamut all over again with these small devices with how fast AF and picture taking can be produced in these things...

The hook - question mark - halo lamp is in apt apposition to the regal lady. Not that it specifically declares any thing clearly, but because of exactly the opposite! We have a stimulus to ask endless questions and when we do, art sizzles!

Asher, again i'm quietly engaging and using those third elements, firstly as a slight framing device and secondly as something that might look like it has connotations with royalty or a crown...or even a bishops sceptre. They were there for the seeing, believing and taking...
