My World: Walk with me.

I was on a forum today. A question was asked, similar to what has been asked countless times before.
" I am traveling to XYZ. Is it safe to take my ABC camera with me; or should I leave it at home? "

I also contributed to that thread. But it got me to look through some archived files.

Walk with me for a few shots through an alley where not many locals ( let alone tourists ) would venture.
" You sure you want to go here? ", Ayesha had asked. And added. " I shall come with you ".

" I am sure ", I said. " And you stay in the hotel ".
" Why? "
" Just like the mountains, because it is there Ayesha. And I like to take photographs ".

I subscribe to the view that if I bought a camera, I want to use it. If I traveled, I would bring the best tool
that would do the job on that trip. Theft, damage and such like are, for me, considerations but of not any great importance. Use of common sense precautions are called for in any place.

I am not a collector of photographic equipment. They are just a tool to pursue my hobby. The day I feel
to ask myself if I should take brand XYZ because it might get lost or stolen is the day I would sell all my camera equipment, stop traveling and waste away.

Just one person's opinion.

Besides the reason given for starting this thread, I do get bored staring at the same photos of mine for
days on end.

As photographs, this series has the motif of unveiling of textures of plaster and stone and overlaying with blocks and columns of light. They work well together.You start with lifeless empty streets, then it becomes alive.

Thanks for taking us where people walk, get to their homes, play and have the same concerns for safety as you do. These spaces between building are where the interchange of life occurs, someone brings a gift for a newborn baby, another comes to visit a person confined to his bed. Another goes off, early in the morning to set up a stall in the local market, 10 hours a day, to feed a family. This is where life happens, it's no show place, tourist trap, but the real representation of people in that community.

I hope others will follow suit and share their pictures, walking through real neighborhoods.
