My favourite season is at hand. Crisp but damp mornings create endless photographic opportunities.

Jarmo,

This is delicate and dedicated work these spiders achieve! You're a keen observer and getting there when there's some moisture in the air really helps in your pictures. The out of focus foliage provides a dreamy background. I love it and am a tad jealous I was not there beside you to get a shot for myself!

It's wonderful that we see this as so marvelous and beautiful, but for the spider, it's survival!

Some interesting studies have been done on the attention span and focus needed by spiders to make good webs. They are remarkably compromised by feeding them psychotropic drugs, as you might expect.

Wonderful shots, as usual, Jarmo! Autumn is my favorite time of year as well.

Photographing spiderwebs is never as easy as it appears for several reasons: they waft around in the breeze all too easily; they rarely are found in the "just right" focal plane; and they are best seen when back lit. That last one is difficult, especially when the background needs to stay, well, in the background. These photos work very well in all respects.

Thank you Asher and Tom! There is certainly something fascinating in the orderly structure of the webs. I love spotting them and shooting them when ever I can.
