I guess we are all aliens when placed in an unfamiliar or foreign surrounding.
I'm sure there is a story behind the image (and I trust you will share).
Have these children become alienated as a result of geographics or strife?
Struggling to to make a foreign land feel like home? Or longing for home?
I may be completely incorrect but that's what I see in their faces.

I saw the picture earlier, but can't from this connection.
I wonder why too, but usually the answer is because someone will not treat each of them as an individual and build a friendship on that basis.
