A great beginning for a series. I like the idea of contrasting beautiful nature advertising nectar with images by art specialist to entice folk to buy man-made “stuff”!

I hope you might continue this who’ll thr might still be more blossom!

well, the two murals on the walls of are representative of the most well known output that made Toho what it is today. the first is of "The Seven Samurai" directed by Akira Kurasawa* and then of course the world renown "Godzilla"** with its long rather "interesting and amusing" history all the way to today.

*Remade in the US as "The Magnificent Seven" not once but twice
** recently updated as a US/JP productions

The art on the walls is really cool, but the cherry blossom photos are wonderful. Especially love the framing in the last one! Gorgeous!

Steven,

These pictures are wonderful for us to enjoy for a long time to come.

What’s so remarkable to me is the massiveness and grandeur of an assemblage of unimportant, very varied, individual rocks which together form a unified structure of strength and fortitude.

In a way, this is a reflection of a well disciplined society made of ordinary individuals who lend their limited abilities to successful communal effort.

there is a high regard for engineering and aesthetics. there is so much going on at this location that it would take more than a few days to really do it justice.

This one is very serene. At first I thought the train were moving towards us.

Now it appears the carriages have been there for a long time and I see at the left a man taking a picture from an opposite perspective!

I admire your choices in the picture, (although, if it were feasible I would add more of that blossoming tree on the left).

This collection of your photographs is growing worthy of an exceptional exhibition!

Kudos,

yes, the train is moving towards us. the station is right behind me. note the rails, short straight ones to create the curves in the route. gives a rocking ride that sets a rhythm while rolling. as to positioning, well, things/positioning can sometimes be problematic.

So many people taking photos of this train. I'm ignorant of the why. Is it because it is a vintage train, not used a lot or some other reason?

Japan Train Culture vs American car culture. and it is a classic. well maintained and used daily.

they even have a national train fan club

oh, i forgot there is also the more character/stylized ones.

This is a special entry point at Tokyo Station and is the only one like it. it was built for the Imperial Family to access the station and go to their train for travel in country. Rail is still the primary method used in Japan.

Very neat architecture and disciplined but yet ornate gates!

Is it still just for the Imperial family?

Does he die all the opening of hospitals dedicating college buildings and naming ships with a bottle of Champagne as do the British Royals?

the whole building, which i did not do because of construction, is based on European architecture. it has been rebuilt after WWII and modified (understatement) afterward.

here is an expanded partial view due to poor weather. for me, it would take weeks to photograph.

yes as far as i know it is for the Imperial family "use" only. as far as others that is at the discretion of said individuals. and i'm surely not included.:)

after that i am not at a level of knowledge of their duties of position.

The hello kitty train is a blast! LOL! and the architecture, definitely European, doesn't feel Asian at all. It's a fascinating country and so interesting to see it through your eyes!

oh, there is so much more;). remember, "the worlds a stage". i watch with my concepts and misconceptions. i then learn, at least i hope i do.

during the Cherry Blossom season there is also the Rapeseed flowering (yellow). a secondary, but still quite popular viewing item along the rails. that is the reason for the yellow paint scheme on the rolling stock all are so interested in getting a pic of. that is the Isumi railway.
