Concrete design enhancing architecture

I am impressed with architects now moving away from forming the expected square pavers out of poured concrete and instead being bold.

It could be that these two houses used the same architect as the houses do seem related.

Alternatively, it’s likely that once a departure was made from the usual square pavers, this use of paving geometry to compliment the house lines became an obvious design asset to follow!

Hi, Asher,
How does that work?
Well, in 1980 California instituted a new scheme for the assignment of license plate number passenger cars (and I suspect for certain other vehicle classes). The new format numbers were initially of the form:

1ABC123

As each series was exhausted, the initial digit was advanced. Thus we can easily tell in what year a certain number was assigned. The initial digit "8" was supposedly first assigned in 2017; "9" was supposedly first assigned in 2024.

After this plan is exhausted (expected for 2026), the next numbers assigned will be of the format: 123ABC1.

But it seems just the other day when I first saw a plate of the (modern) "1ABC123" format.

Best regards,

Doug
