DIY Norman 400b batteries?

I have a 400b with next-to-useless batteries. I am in the process of ordering what I think will be replacement cells that I plan to use to replace the dead/dying cells.
I'm wondering if anyone else has gone down this road... I'd like to hear how things worked out.

I commend you for still using them. I have been using a parallel American brand Lumedyne ,pretty wield comparable in function. Will has run Norman’s for an equal amount of time and if Will can’t solve a problem with them likely it’s not solvable by anyone!
