Peter,
Doug Herr’s recent BIF images got me thinking about the relationships between size and modes of flight and special adaptions.
Peter Dexter: Red-headed Barbet
Now this is a beautiful bird, but I would love to learn more beyond its fabulous coat! Obviously it can’t extend its wings to soar and glide on thermals for hours.
But what tricks does it have? Or does it, perhaps, only fly short distances or hop from branch to branch, eating bugs!
