Camera's delayed timer?
Outside is brighter so it's minimize the risk of reflection from the internal scene…
Also the camera is positioned with an angle (not 90°) toward the subject, this prevents (to some extent) the reflection of the camera…

My wife pushed the button on the camera. I had it set for a three stop bracket so I could get both me and the BG in a decent exposure range and it ws really bright outside and very dark inside the poolhall (which wasn't open but the owner was kind enough to let me to make the shot.
