Dishes

“Can you do the dishes,” she pleads.
“Not yet. Come see”
“What now?”she questions, as though I’ve had a seizure.
“ such intrigue, so fascinating, the likes I feel I’ve never seen.”
“ if it bites I don’t want to know. Flush it” she screeches.
I touch the mass. A few burst, the rest rearrange like grains of sand in the wind.
She rushes over, turns the tap, it’s gone. The dishes await.

A metaphor such as had not occurred to me, least I would have slashed my wrists and watch the blood bubble down.

I would like to be there to film it although I’d hate for you to do that. The blood hardly bubbles down. Likely as not a jet will hit you in the face, spray over the wall and ceiling and little will go down the sink!

Still the drama and color invites recording!
