BTW, that lens seems amazing. I thought it was for microscopy not the moon!!!

Well LDM stands for Long Distance Microscope, as it could do up to 24x magnification from three meters (9ft) away,
could look through thick glass windows into experimental chambers to observe particles etc. But it can be focused
up to infinity (and a bit beyond as most mirrors). And it resolved up to one micron!

Are they filtered for just UV?

Looks like they’d be expensive!

But mirrors not so much!

No, it does visible, UV and IR, not filteresd at all, using SCHOTT ZERODUR front surface mirrors.

And yes, it was quite expensive back then, in the US sold through an optical company in Boulder, CO
