and it's just fine, Rachel. One of the fun and fascinating things to me about photography is being shown what others "see" in a similar situation.
I think you picked out the most prevalent 'action' in the overall scene with your edit there; that's nice. For me, it's more the overall color/contrast that grabbed my attention when I took this. Like pattern recognition moreso than a specific object or subject.

Asher, that's an interesting way of looking at the entire PP aspect of the photograph; I hadn't really considered that part of it before. But you're right...part of what frequently gets done during the processing phase is adjusting those little things to highlight what drew us to the photo in the first place. Of course, there *is* also the personal preference component. If Doug doesn't like water (just an example, not saying he doesn't), for example, then there isn't really anything any of us would be able to do to "fix" or present a water photo for him.
Doug, thanks for your comments too. That's why I was curious to see what others said; it's frequently just as useful to hear differing opinions in order to evaluate your own.
