An area of photography that doesn't appear much on forums (I have a cursory glance at others perhaps).
Never been into landscapes, portraits, heavens to Betsy - a definate no no for weddings! That said (or typed in this case) humanitarian photography does interest me. Am at the moment contacting local organisations that do good works (local . . . . er . . . local to France perhaps, the rest of world is not so local). Start small and see how things go from there.
Have for years had an interest in eastern Europe, Romania beckons, am attracted by the stories that might be there. Eastern Germany, still have a soft spot for Germany in general but the east . . . I have lots of questions, things to see.
Life has been a bit tame since I took (early) retirement and need to get a buzz back into my life. I miss the adrenalin, is that a good thing or bad?
Though I have the sentiment sometimes that this is what others do, why does it appeal? I think to tell a story through the images, to show things that aren't usually seen , to highlight a point.
Though while I'm here, if anyone knows of any humanitarian organisations (small or large, perhaps small are better) that operate in Europe (regardless of where their head office is) let me know (though think the major ones I know about and often they already have loads of photographers).
