This is a male common giant house spider (Latin names Tegenaria gigantea, or more recently Eratigena duellica) - not fully grown but getting there. I moved him onto a more conducive background rather than the carpet in the living room, but he didn't mind one bit!

Your macro makes it look humongous. It gives me shivers and glad I do not have to encounter it. The macro is very well done though! :) Maggie
