I am still so fascinated by this. I am putting together a macro setup!
Whats yours and for a precious rare moth, do you focus stack?
Is the ring made up of overlapping cuticles?
Looks like they may catch dirt or are we just looking though and seeing more structure?

Asher I am using a Sony a6000 with a 50 2.8 lens. No no photo stacking. Can't say about the wing structure.
