My question is not wrong. If you know the answer, post it.
If you don't know the answer to this question, stay silent on this question. No need to pontificate.

Since no one seems to know the answers to the question I posted, let me start. I shall use the names of people as commonly known to me ( and most of us ). Names have been taken from the list/s of the Nuremberg trials and various other sources.

Adolf Hitler. He personally committed only 2 murders that we know of. What do you think his religion was? His nationality? Color of his skin? Which 2 murders did he commit?

Time for Wiki folks.

p.s Should have started with this gentleman. This one should be easy for Jerome.
Klaus Barbie : nationality, religion, color of his skin.

And I shall go through all this and much more. Why? Because of this..

"...The arab nations who want to anahilate Jews...." I had hoped he knew English enough to at least spell properly. And English is my second language.

but you have an advantage! There's an increase in overall language ability with people who actually master a second language. It even extends beyond language to so many other part of intelligence and appreciation. See the other current thread here

Russians who learn Hebrew, get the grammar right more often than native speaking Israelis!! That is not an uncommon finding! :) As for myself, I think ahead of my fingers and make mistakes in spelling. If not for that, I couldn't have become a physician and passed my exams!

Our good friend posted and I quote " .... Lucky me. I barely got out of high school....."

I thought it would be unfair of me to write in the language of my Book, or yours Asher.
Having difficulty ' barely getting out of high school' and me asking him to read right to left.!!

I want to give him the advantage. Let's keep it in his language, at which, too, he seems to be struggling.

The Book. I might address that later.

After that wonderful photo of the lovely girl by Jerome, I think I too shall end this thread ( for tonight
anyway) !

But before I leave this thread let me give you two quotes..together they make more sense.

" ...The arab nations who want to anahilate Jews... " we are told.

With what?, I think.

And this is the response..

"..A few arab boys throwing dust in the air, throwing rocks, shooting guns, murdering innocent folks who were in the wrong place at the wrong time, burning houses down........is that all you got ullah??.."

May I remind folks, though it is easy for those not in the region, that Arabs and Persians are two separate people. It would appear that some people in Nevada only get to know their geography when there is a war going on. No wonder some want to start a war. To learn geography.

As for Adolf and Klaus..well that is history. You can check it up for yourself.

Good night.

Guess who? Yes, me again. Your friendly next door neighbour.

Top of the morning to you all. ( This is not an English expression. Just thought I would mention it ).

Let's start with another gem of a quote for today..

" …This man who would anihilate 100 times more jews than Hitler…". Leaving aside the question of correct grammar, spellings etc, which must be ignored when dealing with hate filled preachers of all faiths..let's briefly analyze this statement.

On second thoughts, I shall let you folks analyze it. I do not belong to his flock. But details do matter, to me at least.

What do you think of the quote above?

p.s. As matter of interest, how many of you know the origin and meaning of ' Asher'.? Why? Just courtesy. We are guests in his house.

Quick answers to two questions I posed:

Adolf Hitler: Austrian/Later German, Roman Catholic, White male caucasian. The two known murders that he personally committed..that of Eva Braun and his own suicide.

Klaus Barbie: German/French, Catholic, White male caucasian. Known as the ' Butcher of Lyon '. he loved transporting jewish orphans to the concentration camps.

No Arabs or Muslims so far. Let's see as we progress.

p.s. Why am I writing this? Because a charge has been made: " ...The arab nations who want to anahilate Jews .." I shall give the facts. You decide. Fair enough?

Klaus Barbie: Chief of the Nazi Gestapo in Lyon, France during the worst period of the Holocaust, 1942-1944, where he took part personally in torturing French resistance fighters.

Evidence suggests that he personally tortured prisoners: men, women, and children alike, by breaking extremities, using electroshock, and sexually abusing them, including with dogs, among other methods.

Of course, he did not consider Jewish orphans as human beings. Auschwitz!!

As a young man he was so pious that he planned to study theology. During his trial he was still pious enough to proclaim "When I stand before the throne of God I shall be judged innocent". Sound familiar?

Most of what I am posting has been borrowed, copied etc. from various references and sources. If there are any factual inaccuracies, please correct them. I am old, but can assure you I was not there during the time period under discussion. I shall give the facts about those that committed the greatest extermination of the Jews in history..not too long ago. It should shed some light on the truth.

Let me state something important. I request you all to keep this in my mind as you read my posts in this thread.

I believe that any crime or sin only accrues to the perpetrator/s of that crime/sin. And to those that espouse the same ideology as that of the original perpetrators of that crime/sin.

All the crimes committed by and during the history of the Third Reich are to be blamed only on those that participated ( in any way ) in those horrific acts. And those that subscribe to similar ideologies currently, need to be checked lest history repeat itself. In any corner of this planet of ours.

All others unconnected with these acts are innocent of these crimes. I accord each and every one the same respect I give my family and friends. Irrespective of their nationalities, color, beliefs, faiths and personal philosophies.

I feel strongly, though, about the purveyors of hate, bigotry and propagandists of insidious lies and untruths. Specially those that cloak their venom under the guise of religion. Any religion.

Some notes on Race, Religion and National Identity.

Q\
No Arabs or Muslims so far. Let's see as we progress.

p.s. Why am I writing this? Because a charge has been made: " ...The arab nations who want to anahilate Jews .." I shall give the facts. You decide. Fair enough?

For those who do not realize this, Fahim happens to be Arab, I'm Jewish and the Iranian President and the Shia mullahs, (Persian Shia Muslims for the most part) are non-Arabs! We should not ascribe to Arabs the threats of made by the Iranians. Yes, Arabs and Jews have differences that are serious and need addressing. Muslims States have at times committed crimes, but on the whole, they have been a haven compared to being Europe.

At least for the past 3,000 years approximately, Iranians are different groups culturally from Arabs.

There are actually no logically viable reasons for using the word "Race" anymore as it was in the last century. The term race is a description of superficial, but easily recognizable body habitus, skin tones and facial shapes, that have been mistakenly considered as indicating major or significantly advantageous differences in actual make up. We can describe people by some of these hardly important features, together with culture, language or religion and shared self-declared identity as being a people! Race as a concept, is more of a conceit, an ever changing bubble of delusion folk live in! There's actually no white race!! We have external features that distinguish people externally and they may have more of a myriad of gene variants, but that's all! There's certainly no white race to be defended against blood contamination. No one is superior! The "White race", BTW, is just a very recently invented xenophobic political term and has no scientific basis. Rather we all have in common many mixtures, (or better assemblages) of unique genetic coding sequences, as all people are built of genetic lego blocks, (runs of unique DNA sequences of bases pairs, some of which first appeared some 70,000 years ago in Africa and 50,000 years ago in India before migrating to the middle East and Europe.

"most modern evidence points to “indeed, nearly all Europeans — and by extension, many Americans — can trace their ancestors to only four mtDNA lines, which appeared between 10,000 and 50,000 years ago and originated from South Asia.”"*

"in simple terms, India acted “as an incubator of early genetic differentiation of modern humans moving out of Africa.”2*

[Again], "In simple terms, except for Africans, all humans have ancestors in the North-West of the Indian peninsula. In particular, one migration started around 50,000 BP towards the Middle East and Western Europe" *

Religion, Shia v. Sunni and even Christianity, are too recent markers in this context. Still, the Iranian Persian peoples are culturally distinct, from Arabs and look different, even though all so close genetically. To get a better sense of this, lets look at some premium cars, the Mercedes and the Lexus. The ideas built in to both cars brands correspond to our (runs or of) building blocks of DNA. They are closely related and share variations of thousands of inventions, designs and patents but in different recipes. Still, the Mercedes and Lexus brands are immediately recognizable on sight and are made in different locations and by mostly different part manufacturers.

*From an excellent article on genetic analysis of human populations using large samples from divers populations.

I hope this serves as a soothing bandage for those who have fiery rhetoric about uniqueness of peoples. While I'm proud of my Jewish heritage and culture, I recognize the valuable and essential interchange and contributions of so many diverse civilizations to our present modernity and advantages. It's also obvious, that no group can claim some racial purity or uniqueness, but rather an enrichment of some archaic DNA runs of base pairs compared to more genetically distant folk. Still we are all made up of the same archaic pieces African and Indian of DNA from, originating in just handfuls of unique and ambitious men and women (hunter/gatherer/farmer) travelers of 50-70,000 years ago!

Hi George.

I honestly wish I did not have to deal with this issue.
My only agenda, if there is one, is for my region and all the people
that live in it have a fair chance of survival. I want my descendants to
survive. I am certain the majority of people in Israel also want and
hope for a peaceful co-existence.

Yes, there are major issues to solve between the Arabs and the Jews.
And yes, both sides claim crimes against each other.
But we have to move on from here.
For the sake of survival for the both of us.

But there are those, like Jim Galli, who wish otherwise.
They preach a message of hate. They spit their venom of hate, death and
destruction by manipulating text of a Holy Book to further their agenda.

I am grateful that Tom, Mark, and Jerome initially challenged Jim. It
was Asher that argued against Jim's diabolical messianic visions and
prophecies of death and destruction for us in this part of the world.

He then insulted me, my people and those of my faith by ascribing to us,
as a whole, lies, untruths and hateful bigotry. You want me to let that stand?

Jim wishes, prays, preaches and propagates religious and racial hatred.
He wants millions to die. He wants millions more to suffer. We have
suffered enough and we do not want to suffer anymore this filth
eschewing from him and those hypocrites that espouse his brand of christianity.

I believe that, although Jim might be utterly sincere, he truly does not comprehend
nor recognize that his vision is contradictory to all concepts of loving one's neighbor
and respect for the equal worth and humanity of all peoples before the court of man
and any courts of heaven a person might imagine.

I know for fact that the majority of Christians, of all color, want nothing to
do with this travesty of their Holy Religion. Jim's ideology and his god
is the same god as that of Himmler, Goebbels, and Eichmann. It is not the God of Christianity,
not the God of the Jewish people and definitely not the God of Islam.

Both the Arabs and the Jews want peace, with honor and safety, for both sides.
I, for one, shall work towards this goal in my own insignificant but peaceful way.

I shall, hopefully, not have to participate anymore in this thread.

Thank you all, for bearing with me.

This is to Jim!

There are few people who have impacted me in photography as much as you. Also I'm impressed by your generosity in dealing with others you meet. Subsequently, I came to know of your strong Christian apocalyptic beliefs. I'll add that although you're utterly sincere, a good family man, contributor to society and fun to be with, your extreme views are truly unexpected and out of character and mistaken! Modern Christianity does not share your views. If you re-eavluate the ideas on the required "gathering in of the chosen people" and the necessary wars between the armies of the world as a prelude to a promised and wonderful "second coming", you might agree that they're contradictory to concepts of "loving one's neighbor" and the equal worth of all peoples before us or before any courts of heaven you might imagine. This difference is massive. The consequences of ethnic/religious based pre-conceived "valuations" and "backing by God" is human suffering, not a "messianic age" and "salvation"! Well that's my considered view and who am I, just one person, just intent on looking for the best in us.

Now you, OTOH, feel that the time is closing in on us and the chance to join the believers, (who will be spared), is soon to vanish! Well, I'm banking on a more accepting humanity and a more nurturing and generous God. My own view, simply stated is "Don't worry about heaven or intent; that's "God role", just help other people, do good towards them and you're on the right path for everything else!"

Asher :)

Well Jim,

Time has passed and on rereading everything I've written I don't like that we argued so much, as fundamentally we both want the same goodness on this one planet! I do respect your strong faith and want to celebrate it. The difficulty for me is that in my faith, God wouldn't turn his back on non-beievers and your insistence on just the opposite. How can one of we two good men, get it so wrong? So I don't want to deal with our differences just strengthen what we together value!

Kindest thoughts, :)

What about me..' the third ain't good enough? ' Or don't we figure in this ' Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all men'?
Not the best way to ' win hearts and minds '!! As some are finding out.

Fahim,

I only referred to just Jim and I. I did not refer to you, Mark, Jerome or anyone else! You are not wrong either!

I'm the one who has had a relationship with Jim and I'm the one who's stuck at the great divide between the idea of a God that's merciful and generous, as I was taught and one Jim sticks to wherein God has a specific formulae for some of us, (those that accept Jesus as savior), and excludes everyone else. I'm the one who challenged a friend who wants to speak up for my people! That's the sad paradox. Still, the cultural differences are very important and I have much more clarity after the discussion that Jim and I have totally opposite points of view. It so happens that you concur but you have not shared bread with Jim nor worked together, so it's no big risk or loss to have such a confrontation.

Still, I reiterate that all of us can concentrate on what holds us together and accept that there's parts of each of us that cannot be reconciled. Still, I don't believe that the end of the world is approaching, so for me the matter is mute.

You present a very valid and rational point of view. And you do it with sincerity and a clarity that I respect. I agree; despite our vast cultural and religious differences, we must agree on that which unites us; that we all can agree on. We can, and we must.

Shalom.

Fahim, first, you must forgive me my mis-spelling of annihilation. I'm an ignorant unschooled person who resides in a 'red' state, and I'm withstanding MS Office and Windows 7 as long as possible, so no spell checker. Your point conceded.

Second, Bravo for invoking Godwins Law as soon as possible and getting that out of the way! I'm Hitler because I take Mr. Ahmadinajad at his word, that makes me Hitler. Shame on you. It makes him Hitler, not me, I only repeated what he has said over and over. The Jews are a scab that needs to be removed so the rest of the world can heal. That's what Ahmadinajad says.

Third, your argument that the white folks did it last time, not the arab peoples, holds no water. This is deeper than color. I assure you that the god of this world, Satan, is quite color blind when he chooses his dupes. Satan wants to annihilate the Jews. Just now that seems a good match with a certain Persian. (thanks for setting me right on that).

But according to the Word of God, the Holy Bible, someone like Ahmadinajad and indeed even Netanyahu, may get the ball rolling, but the Book clearly shows ALL of the nations coming against Israel. Every tribe. Every nation. All drawn to Israel for the great battle.

Whoever among you thinks the stage is not set for this drama, raise your hands. It is in fact out of your hands.

I'm an atheist and I will stand with Jerome Marot to raise my hand along side his.

But I do it with a sense of sadness and loss. If there is an encounter with what is holy, what is divine, in this world, reports of miracles aside, then it comes through contact with Scripture in any of its forms. And in one sense, whether one is a believer or not, Scripture can be a guide to a good and virtuous life. Unfortunately history confounds this hope and sacred text has bolstered many villainies in many places.

When I see exhortations to aggression or confrontation couched in words from a religious book I yearn that believers would take pause, think, and consider an old caution:

The Devil full well knows Scripture and for his own purposes can quote it word-perfect.

You're scary, Jim. I'm just checking the map to see if there is a reasonable distance between us. Mmmmm, not quite enough. Could you move to Mars? You might find a better audience there. I believe there are some nice rocks to talk to.
